Patients and Families Write Thank-you Notes to Dr. Foroohar

“Neurosurgery deals with the most precious organs, the brain and spinal cord,” says Dr. Foroohar. “Extreme focus and life-and-death decisions are part of my daily routine. I am often put in circumstances that require fast decision-making with very high risks involving human life.

“Neurosurgery, whether elective or emergency, always involves critical structures with potential for catastrophic outcomes,” she explains. “The challenges in practicing neurosurgery are often insurmountable and the disease processes complex beyond measure.

“But the heart of practicing neurosurgery is not only treating disorders of the brain and spine—it is treating patients with these often life-threatening conditions. I always try to remember the human side of medicine,” says Dr. Foroohar.

“In the last 11 years, I have received hundreds of thank-you notes and many kind words and gifts from my patients, and I am always deeply touched and grateful for them,” she adds. “Here, I would like to share a few of these notes with you.”

______

Thank you so much for giving me a second change at a pain free existence. My recovery has been easy to handle and I owe that success all to you. It’s been a pleasure to have you as my surgeon and strive to meet with your expectations. Again thank you, JM.

______

Thank you for all you have done to get me back on my feet. From the surgery to the office paper work, I Thank you and Thank God for each of you(Dr. Foroohar’s office staff). JA.

______

Thank you very much for the exceptional care you provided during my time of emergency. Giving me a second chance at life is the greatest gift I have ever received. I am ecstatic that I will be able to have the opportunity to watch my kids grow up and continue to live a terrific life with my wife. This whole experience truly gave me a firsthand feel of how precious life is, and I will take very few things for granted. I can truly say I owe my life to you. Thank you. All the best, JG

______

And his wife writes:

How do you say thank you for saving a life? You have given me the greatest gift of all—my husband, my daughter's daddy, my best friend. Words can never express the gratitude I feel toward you and your tremendous skills.

When J was discharged, our daughter, M was bouncing off the walls with excitement. As is the custom every night, she took my hand and J's hand and led us up the stairs, our family of three, soon to be four, still complete. Thank you for saving J and my family. With deepest gratitude, JG

______

I am truly grateful that the doctor I had received to take care of the hematoma that remained in my brain was you. I know I was placed in extremely good hands when I heard you say you were ready to take charge of the problem. I knew somehow that I was being taken care of by a competent individual and I am grateful to my loving Good God for the care He gave me through you.

I know I must ask my Lord to continue to bless you always in order that many more needy people will be as fortunate as I have been with you. God knows how grateful I am for having had you as my surgeon. Gratefully yours, Sister MM

I thank my God every time I remember you! God's blessings as you continue my care and the other care of patients. I pray to take care of yourself. With appreciation, KH

______

Words cannot express how deeply grateful we all are for saving my dad, JL. Your calm, professional manner made my whole family feel at ease! You are truly my hero! It is a miracle that you were able to be there on Sunday—April! God and you gave me faith and I am so grateful to you. Thank you so much! Sincerely, AZ

______

I just wanted to take the time to thank you so much for the recent back surgery you performed on me. I am blessed to have been in your hands, and on top of it you were able to have an old friend named Dr. RS grace us with his presence. I really know, and can tell that you are remarkable at your profession. I felt so comfortable knowing that I was in good hands. You have a track record that obviously speaks for itself. I really and truly mean this when I tell you that I thank you kindly and I look forward to my recovery.

I will be seeing you soon and thank you again for all you have done for me. Oh yes, one more thing. Your staff (both in the operating room and at Suite 3200) are also phenomenal and tell them I said thanks. There's nothing like having so many women taking good care of you. Tell them all I said thanks! Thank you kindly, DR

______

It has been three years since you performed back surgery (triple laminectomy) to relieve my severe sciatic pain. I praise God daily since I have been painless since the surgery. I also pray for you to continue your great work. I am active, walking, biking and swimming. I am a Eucharistic minister. I will celebrate my 72nd birthday in July. Hugs to you, doc. PG

______

I just wanted to thank you again for your kindness and big heart. You are very rare in our society today! Toby told me how wonderful you were and has the highest respect for you and I now know why. Bless you and your staff as you so well deserve. Love, ZC

______

From the family of JS, we would all like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for trying to save our dear brother/father/uncle, etc. I know this is a little late, but it is very heartfelt. I know that was a very long night for you, and that it was very difficult for you to give us all the grave news.

You were so very caring and compassionate, and we thank you for that. J continued to receive excellent care until he left us on Jan. 2nd. We want you to know that two people received his kidneys, two others benefitted from his eyes, and his other organs and tissues will be used for research. J was such a giver while he was alive, and he chose to give all he had by being a registered organ donor.

We will not forget your kindness and compassion, and we are so thankful you were there, on call that night. May God bless you always, The family of JS

______

In 2002, you performed a laminectomy on my neck and replaced two disks. Your skill as a neurosurgeon has allowed me to live a pain-free life since 2002. Thanks to your dedication, medical training and desire to be a great neurosurgeon, you have allowed me to live a pain-free life.

In our everyday "hustle and bustle" of daily living, we often forget to say thank you to people who help improve the quality of our life. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to you for your expert medical diagnosis of my problem and the skillful surgical procedure which has allowed me to continue my normal living pattern.

Thanks to you, I can now continue to perform on my percussion instruments. The medical procedure you performed allows me, pain-free, to place in my hands the mallets and sticks to make beautiful music. Your skillful hands have allowed my skillful hands to continue performing.

Thank you, RA. September 30, 2011

______

I want to thank you for listening to my husband and I regarding all of my previous issues with surgery. We were extremely and happily surprised at the very good outcome of coming out of anesthesia as well as I did.

You are a very talented neurosurgeon, but beyond that, you are a warm and calming lady who knows how to encourage her patients through a scary surgery.

Thank you for your warmth and kindness. Warmest regards, R & JG

P.S. Your staff is awesome and extremely helpful!
